I have a problem with reading. It typically takes me ages to get through a novel, not because I hate reading, but I prefer reading at night and I tend to fall asleep, or I guilt trip myself about "wasting" time reading for pleasure when I could/should be reading for school, or cleaning, or doing xyz "productive" thing. oh, also hover over the covers to see a little blurb :P

Horror, Scifi	2pg	Haven't really sat down to start this one, so I'm only a couple pages in so far.
manga, fantasy	vol 10	actually really liked the series so far and it was getting interesting. I think my library loan ran out and I just haven't had the time to pick it back up.

Fantasy

The Princess Bride // 4/5 honestly the movie is better. There's weird fatphobic passages when the 'author' is talking about his son for some reason? idk it was just kinda weird to me, and also wesley slaps Buttercup

Horror

Lost Souls // 3.75 I enjoyed the first half of the book, which reminded me a bit of Near Dark. I felt the last third was a bit... meandering. Mainly because I didn't care for Ghost and Steve, and I found myself speeding through their many many chapters. I did like all the nods to 90s goth culture though. Also incest?

Misery // 5/5 I largely believe that Stephen King is overrated af and can't write a good ending to save his life. HOWEVER, Misery is the one exception imo. Granted I've also never finished anything else by him so who cares what my opinion is lol

The Ruins // 5/5 The only 500 something page book that had me reading like a hundred pages in one sitting. I think I finished this in like three days? which is crazy fast for me

Manga

20th Century Boys // 5/5 series as a whole, I will say the last volume kinda pissed me off, but other than that Urasawa knows how to make a good conspiracy plot

Parasyte // 5/5 Another great one. Same thing as with Monster, the anime is also really good. The anime is just set in a more recent time period, the manga is heavily 80s lol

Secret XXX // 5/5 Do you know how hard it is to find decent BL that doesn't involve SA or dubcon? Or the will they wont they bs? Secret XXX is just really fucking adorable. Two dudes falling in love, also it's uncensored?? Not unwanted, just very much unexpected :D

Therapy Game // 5/5 I haven't finished the series as I kinda stopped buying manga after Right Stuf got bought out and I'm literally still waiting for a manga I bought back in like 2021... I don't think I'm getting that one T_T

Uzumaki // 4/5 There's some parts that are kinda boring and don't quite fit, but overall I think it's one of Ito's better works. Shame what happened to the anime though, it looked really promising.

Non-fiction

The Myth of Sisyphus // 4/5 I lowkey kinda skipped around a bit, but the beginning and end were great. Did make me think differently about the concept of suicide. I actually ended up gifting this to someone for Christmas and I figured shit I should probably read it first before I give it to them.

Scifi

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy // 5/5 Sometimes I crack it open just to reread the Vogon poetry bit

I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream // 5/5 I actually played the game before I read the story. Both are great, but have a few differences. I actually sampled Harlan's voice from the game for a song. Don't tell anyone please I can't afford to get sued.

Leviathan Wakes // 5/5 Hopefully I will actually be able to finish the series. I've been stuck on Caliban's War for a few years now.

A Psalm for the Wild-Built // 5/5 Such a comforting read, dare I say cozy *shudder*
